Korea has ranked number one in terms of number of international meetings hosted in the country for the second year in a row.

According to the 2018 International Meetings Statistics Report released by the Union of International Associations (UIA) on June 16, Korea hosted 1,297 meetings in 2017, a 30 percent increase compared to 2016, keeping its number one spot in the world rankings for the second year in a row. The overall number of international conference held worldwide in 2017 was 17,876.

An official from the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) said, “Our policies to attract more meetings, incentive travel, conventions and exhibitions (MICE) business and joint efforts from local autonomous entities together were able to accomplish these fruitful results."
