President Park Geun-hye sent a message of condolence to Chinese President Xi Jinping on August 4 concerning the recent earthquake that hit the area of Zhaotong in Yunnan Province in southeastern China.

In the message to the Chinese leader, President Park expressed her sadness for the loss of life and for the property damage the families in the area have had to endure. She expressed her condolences and sympathies for the victims and members of the bereaved families.

President Park hoped that China would be able to overcome this hardship in the near future under the leadership of President Xi Jinping.
