“Mr. President! This is Lieutenant Colonel Freddy!”

So said an Indonesian presidential security officer in Korean as he greeted President Moon Jae-in, who is on a state visit to Indonesia, in Jakarta on Nov. 9.

The 15 Indonesian presidential security officers had previously completed their security training courses at the Presidential Security Service in Korea.

President Moon, at the request of the Indonesian presidential security forces, held a meeting with the officers in Jakarta. He shook hands with all 15 officers and shared with them his words of encouragement.

The Presidential Security Service of Korea first trained Indonesian officers in 2009. Starting in 2013, Indonesian officers come to Korea for training every year. So far, 557 presidential security officers from 10 countries, including Uzbekistan, Vietnam and Mongolia, have attended training program offered by the Presidential Security Service of Korea.

“Guard operations by the Presidential Security Service of Korea are known to be world-class. Many security services around the world receive training in Korea to guard world leaders,” said Cheong Wa Dae on Facebook.
