The first meeting of the 2025 Advisory Committee on Economic Security and Foreign Affairs for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit chaired by Second Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang Insun was held on May 26 at her ministry's compound in Seoul's Jongno-gu District.

Staff from ministries and leading economic groups involved in APEC's preparation attended the meeting to review and discuss the event's overall preparation status, as well as follow-up measures to basic plans for the summit.

They also discussed follow-up steps for plans in key sectors of the summit such as aviation, transportation, medical care, culture, public relations and business events.

In the end, the attendees pledged to build a collaborative business structure for airports to boost air travel convenience and airport infrastructure. For effective transportation, motorcades, ceremonial vehicles and shuttle buses at each airport and train station will be used during the summit period.

For swift and safe emergency response, 24-hour medical care will be provided.

Other agenda included hosting of official dinners, friendship-building activities, events for spouses, cultural programs and promotional matters.

Vice Minister Kang said, "With a heightened sense of responsibility, we will thoroughly review all aspects of preparations for the 2025 APEC Summit and do our best to ensure readiness."
