1. The Sherpa Meeting for the 2012 Seoul Nuclear Security Summit will be held on Oct. 4-5 in Helsinki, Finland. The meeting will be attended by Sherpas of the 46 countries and 4 international organizations (UN, IAEA, EU, and INTERPOL) invited to the Seoul Summit. 

2. The meeting will be chaired by Kim Bong-hyun, the Deputy Minister for Multilateral and Global Affairs of Korea’s Foreign Ministry, who will lead the main consultation on the Seoul Communique, as well as discussion on general issues related to the preparations for the Summit, including the topics for each session of the Summit.

3. As the chair of the Seoul Security Summit, Korea will actively consult with other Sherpas with a view to setting down concrete and action-oriented guidance on future activities of nuclear security in the Seoul Communique.

4. The Sherpas are scheduled to meet again in January, 2012, in India, to continue their discussion on the wording of the Seoul Communique based on the outcomes of the consultation of the Sherpa Meeting in Finland, thereby making progress in their preparations for the Seoul Summit.
