People from around the globe have selected the harmony that exists between tradition and modernity as the true charm of Korea.
This is from a survey recently conducted by the Korea Pavilion at Expo Milano 2015. Respondents said that city tours, Hansik cuisine and Korean pop culture are the main attractions in Korea.

The Korea Pavilion conducted the survey of 445 visitors to mark its 100th day on Aug. 8. Respondents showed great satisfaction in the pavilion's overall program, including the exhibits and the restaurant, and the shop where they can purchase Korean memorabilia.

Many respondents said that Seoul's palaces, traditional Hanbok attire and Hansik cuisine, grouped together as 'traditional culture,' are in beautiful harmony with the more modern aspects of Korean society.

In the survey, more than 95 percent of people said that they were satisfied with the exhibits at the Korea Pavilion. The survey results showed that most respondents, 26.8 percent of people, thought the moving screen show controlled by robot arms was the most impressive part of the exhibit.

More than 89 percent of respondents said that they were happy with the Korean cuisine served at the restaurant in the pavilion. They picked the themed sets and the bibimbap as the dishes that they would recommend to their friends. Bibimbap, kimchi and bulgogi were all part of their favorite Korean foods.

Survey respondents said that themed menu sets and bibimbap were two of the food items that they would recommend to their friends.

The Korea Pavilion has been showing an exhibit about Hansik. Since its opening in May this year, about 1.2 million people have visited the pavilion, appreciated the exhibit and been able to taste Korean cuisine. The number of accumulated visitors topped 1 million last month. The average number of daily visitors is around 12,000.

The Korean restaurant at the pavilion serves special set menus under the themes of harmony, healing and longevity. In early August, the official blog InExpo selected the Korean restaurant as one of the top 10 restaurants at the expo.
