President Park Geun-hye visited the Seoul National Cemetery on January 1 on her first scheduled event of 2014.

President Park visited the cemetery in Dongjak-gu (district), Seoul, to lay a wreath and to pay tribute to the patriotic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country.

The president wrote in the guestbook that she hopes that, “Korea can be filled with the energy to leap forward and that the people will be happy in the new year of the horse.”

She was accompanied by Prime Minister Chung Hongwon and several ministers and vice ministers from central government organizations.
