About 100 representatives from the two countries’ ministries of culture, the Copyright Office of Vietnam, the Korea Copyright Commission and from Korean companies working in the Southeast Asian country gathered to share their understandings and ideas on how to cooperate on copyright protection.

The conference was centered on how to come up with measures to boost cooperation between central governing bodies, with the goal of further improving the two countries’ content industries.

Some of the participants called attention to the issues during their presentations on the following agenda items: legal copyright regulations and policies; understanding the current status of central governing bodies and cooperation in the field; effective policies to guide the content industry; and, lastly, how to further develop the content industry in the two countries.

“This conference is essential to form a network among experts of the two countries, from both government and the content industry, where they can share their expertise in the use of cultural content and issues concerning copyright,” said the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism after the conference.

This will further increase cooperation and exchanges in the field between Korea and Vietnam, the ministry said.

“We expect closer cooperation with Vietnam’s copyright-related organizations to help stop any violations in the field and to produce a healthy environment across the content market.”
