President Park Geun-hye sent messages of condolence to Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak and to Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte on July 19 concerning the July 17 downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17.

In the message to the Malaysian leader, President Park expressed her deep sadness for the many lives lost in the plane crash. She expressed her condolences and sympathy for the victims and members of the bereaved families. The president hoped that in the near future the Malaysian people will be able to overcome this shock and sadness.

In her message to the prime minister of the Netherlands, President Park expressed her sadness that the plane crash claimed many Dutch lives. The president expressed her heartfelt condolences and deep sympathy for the victims, members of their bereaved families and for the Dutch people. She also hoped that the Netherlands will be able to overcome the shock and sadness of the accident in the near future.
