President Moon Jae-in will visit Vladivostok, Russia, to attend the Eastern Economic Forum on Sept. 6 and 7, Cheong Wa Dae spokesperson Park Soo-hyun said on Sept. 1.

President Moon will hold summit talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sept. 6. The two leaders will discuss measures to boost Korea-Russia cooperation in a substantial manner, and they will then hold a joint press conference and sign some MOUs. The two presidents will discuss North Korean nuclear weapons issues and cooperation on ways to establish peace on the Korean Peninsula.

The Cheong Wa Dae spokesperson said, “President Moon will attend the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum in the afternoon on Sept. 7 where he will introduce his New Northern Policy designed to boost economic cooperation with countries in Northeast Asia and in Eurasia. He will present his vision on ways to strengthen the strategic cooperative partnership that exists between Seoul and Moscow.”

During his Russia trip, President Moon will also hold summit meetings with Mongolian President Khaltmaagiin Battulga and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
