National Assembly Speaker Chung Syekyun held a meeting with boxing legend and Philippine Senator Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao at the National Assembly building in Yeouido, Seoul, on Dec. 22.

Chung said that Seoul and Manila have been friends for a long time, mentioning Korea’s first modern stadium, the Jangchung Gymnasium, which was built with help from the Philippines. “It's my pleasure to meet a Philippine senator and a Philippine hero with an unprecedented record of winning world titles in eight different weight divisions,” Chung said.

“I plan to establish a boxing academy in Korea to share my boxing experience,” said Pacquiao.
