South and North Korea have agreed to broadcast major events of the upcoming 2018 Inter-Korean Summit live, starting with the initial handshake planned between President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Kwun Hyuk-ki, head of the presidential Chunchugwan Press Center, announced that this agreement was made at working-level talks held at the Thongil House at Panmunjeom on April 18.

The talks were attended by five high-ranking South Korean officials, led by senior director Kim Sang-gyun of the National Intelligence Service (NIS). The North Korean delegation included seven members, headed by State Affairs Commission Secretariat Director Kim Chang-son.

Finally, Cheong Wa Dae said that both sides would have further discussions about protocol, security measures and media coverage for the upcoming summit.
