The two Koreas held their third working-level meeting on April 23 ahead of the upcoming 2018 Inter-Korean Summit.

In the meeting, the two sides reached an agreement on the main schedule for the upcoming talks, including the first historic meeting between the two leaders, the official welcoming ceremony, the summit meeting itself, the dinner and the press coverage from Southern journalists reporting from the northern side of Panmunjeom.

Director Kwun Hyuk-ki of the Chunchugwan Press Center said in a briefing issued after the third working-level meeting that, “The South and North held three rounds of working-level meetings to discuss protocol, security and press issues, and reached a final agreement today.”

Director Kwun said that, “Both sides agreed to inform each other about their final confirmed list of delegates and presidential attendants for the upcoming Summit as soon as possible.”

“The North will dispatch its first delegation to the southern side of Panmunjeom on April 26 and the South will guarantee all possible convenience and support for the North delegation,” he said.

Regarding the press, he said, “The South and North today also agreed to allow South Korean broadcasters to cover not only live broadcasts of the summit but also to cover the event from the northern side of Panmunjeom.”

In regard to the main schedule for the upcoming summit, Director Kwun said, “The South will perform a final rehearsal on April 24 in Panmunjeom while the North will participate in the joint rehearsal on April 25 where State Affairs Commission Secretariat Director Kim Chang-son will attend.”

“The final rehearsal will be conducted on April 26 with six South Korean official presidential attendants in attendance,” he added.
