Outdoor classical concert to be held in palace

The Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, directed by maestro conductor and music director Chung Myung-whun, is to present a fantastic classical concert in Gyeonghuigung Palace, one of the most well-known tourist attractions in Korea at 7:30 p.m. on May 3.

Open to Seoulites and tourists free of charge, this concert will fill the spring sky with beautiful melodies.

This free concert by the oldest orchestra in Korea is to kick off the "Hi-Seoul Spring Festival 2008," and it’s a great way to spend some quality time with your family.

The orchestra will play the Overture from Verdi’s La Forza del Destino and Symphony No. 4 by Tchaikovsky.

Soloists Park Jung-won (soprano) and Kim Yung-hwan (tenor) will sing three arias from Puccini’s opera La Boheme: Che gelida manina; Si, Mi chiamano Mimi and O soave fanciulla.

Entry to the event is on a first come, first served basis.
