Psy and Super Junior Confirmed for ′2012 MAMA′

2012 MAMA announced through official press releases that "Psy and Super Junior will be appearing in the live broadcast of MAMA, which will take place on November 30 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre."
Psy has paved a new way outside of Asia, stretching his influence as far as America, Britain, Australia and even the Netherlands with Gangnam Style, rising to the top of global music charts. He is currently promoting in America, aiming to top the Billboard chart.
Super Junior took over the top spot of Korean album charts with its sixth album, and also proved the popularity its been gathering in North and South America, Australia and Asia through its music videos.
Director Han Dong Chul, in charge of 2012 MAMA, told enews, "Psy and Super Junior have been gathering interest around the world, and because there were so many inquiries on whether the two teams would be appearing in MAMA from Hong Kong and neighboring Asian countries, we decided to announce their participation early on. The two teams have all delivered their best performances at Mnet′s year-end ceremonies, and so this year for 2012 MAMA they′re again preparing upgraded performances fit for the global stage. You can look forward to it."
Director Han added, "More global stars other than these teams have been confirming their appearances. We′ll continue to announce [who will be appearing]."
The nominees for 2012 MAMA will be revealed through Mnet′s Wide Entertainment News for the first time ever on October 23. The nominations will take place live on a special stage set up in Incheon International Airport.
MAMA started off as the Mnet KM Music Festival (MKMF) in 1999, and boasts a history of over 10 years. In its first year, 2009, it started off in Korea, and in its later years started taking place in other Asian cities. In 2010 it took place in Macau, and in 2011 in Singapore.
