Zhang conveyed congratulatory messages to President-elect Park from Chinese President Hu Jintao and General Secretary Xi Jinping of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

Xi said in the written message that he hopes Korea and China can strengthen their strategic cooperative partnership. He also said both countries can make concerted efforts to inherit the historical ties and pioneer the future together, as China values Korea’s important role in the international community.

President-elect Park highly valued the leadership of President Hu Jintao and congratulated Xi Jinping’s administration on taking office in November 2012. She said she hoped that both Korea and China can further develop trust and advance friendly relations between both countries through the incoming administrations.
