A meeting was held at the athletes' village for the 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade in Gwangju on June 17 to support the successful hosting of the games, which will kick off in just two weeks.

At the meeting, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism decided to run a "culture technology" pavilion at the athletes' village from July 1 to July 15. In addition, Gwangju City plans to run a familiarization tour for the athletes so they can experience traditional architectures or travel around the southern parts of the country by train. The city government also intends to run tours of Jeollanam-do (South Jeolla Province) everyday, instead of just on the weekends, and run theme-based walking tours and urban bicycle tours of the city.
